Service Description
You will be collected from your hotel at an agreed time to start your chauffeur driven adventure. DAY 1: A tour of the King's residence, Windsor Castle, before moving on to Oxford, home to one of the world's oldest Universities in the afternoon. OPTIONAL ADD-ON: Choral Evensong (available most nights of the week) at Christ Church Cathedral sung by choir of Christ Church College (one of the colleges of the University) DAY 2: Blenheim Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, ancestral home of the Dukes of Marlborough and birthplace of Winston Churchill, and then to Stonehenge, your second UNESCO World Heritage Site of the day, 4,000 years old and still a mystery. DAY 3: Starting in the Cotswolds, exploring some of the most beautiful villages in the country, before heading to Stratford, for a tour around one of the most beautiful medieval cities and Shakespeare's birthplace. OPTIONAL ADD-ON: Evening performance by the Royal Shakespeare Company (subject to ticket availability). DAY 4: A drive to Chatsworth House, ancestral home of the Dukes of Devonshire and one of the most beautiful stately homes in the country, before heading north to the Lake District. DAY 5: A magical tour of the lakes with a local guide, taking in 10 lakes including Windemere and Grasmere (home of Gingerbread and the poet Wordsworth). OPTIONAL ADD-ON: A day of walking or other adventure activities can be arranged. DAY 6: You cross the Pennines to Durham, visiting the Cathedral and the University, before heading to Alnwick Castle, used in the filming of Harry Potter. DAY 7: Head north along the beautiful Northumberland coast, with stops at Bamburgh Castle and Lindisfarne. DAY 8: Edinburgh, exploring the castle and the city. OPTIONAL ADD-ON: an evening of culture in Scotland's capital (dependent on availability) DAY 9: Heading north into the Highlands, with visits to Perth Castle and Loch Lomond, before heading to Glasgow. DAY 10: The tour concludes OPTIONAL ADD-ON: an extra day can be added to explore Glasgow and the surrounds The tour includes: Chauffeur driven luxury vehicle Hotel accommodation for nine nights incl. breakfast. Cost assumes double occupancy on rooms where possible.
